Health and Safety self assessment tool
For those churches that have not yet established a workplace health and safety plan, or are looking to update and revise it, worksafe New Zealand have a new self assessment tool on their website. This replaces the old audit style assessments with a Safety Star Rating Scheme and it looks pretty good. Go to:

Also remember that Health and Safety awareness is not overly cumbersome and is required for all workplaces. For further information go to page 66 of the Church Management Support guide, and the Interchurch Bureau Website has some great templates you can use to get you started.
Crisis Management Plan
1705 CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN Parish Template (Word Doc)
This Crisis Management Plan was created by Garry Marquand and was prompted by a major crisis which some parishioners had to handle in a Christian organisation in Auckland. Discussion included reference to major crisis situations local churches had to manage with strong public interest and internal trauma. While such crises are rare, and we hoped would never happen to us, there was clearly the need for a plan to be in place. The process of creating the plan included consultation with organisations that had such plans.
